Health & Care Worker Visa
Health and Care Worker visa
This specific visa is solely designated for individuals working in the field of healthcare and caregiving, and who have received a job offer from either the National Health Service (abbreviated as ‘NHS’), an institution that offers medical services to the NHS ( NHS supplier), or an organization specializing in adult social care.
Recent Changes to Health Care Worker Visa
Changes to the route are due to take effect in Spring 2024 and will only affect care workers and senior care workers. When changes take effect, Care Workers and Senior Care Workers will be unable to bring dependents when they migrate to the UK and only CQC- registered providers in England will be able to sponsor Health and Care Visa applicants.
Other changes, such as the increase in salary thresholds, do not apply to the Health and Care Visa route. Health and Care Visa holders will continue to be exempt from paying the Immigrational Health Surcharge (IHS).
The Home Office has proclaimed an alteration in supplementary work regulations in February 2023. A noteworthy revision allows Health and Care visa holders to engage in an additional employment without the obligation of informing the Home Office, thus enabling them to work more than the current 20 hours per week.
